26/10/07 - Congratulations on FINALLY getting the right men in for the job! It was along time coming but I'm sure the club will now go from strength to strength! Hi to everyone at the club,

Der Kaiser.

28/10/07 - I can only assume given the email address that i am writing to Mr Armstrong, if not, then my apologies. It matters not however as I just wish say what a smile the website put on my face. Having played for the Young Men from about 88 to 92, and had the privilege to represent all three teams during my time, I had consigned those memories to the history books. However, I stumbled across the website and all the momories came flooding back. It's great to see that some of the old hands that were around in my day are still knocking about the club, (wee Norman is as gnome like as I remember----is he still playing???). And those pictures of Boo Graham, Eddie, and the teams are great to have. Its funny now thinking back that I was one of the youngest then---how things change. But it would appear I went out on a high according to the records, having been part of wee Billy McCulloughs' all conquering champions of 91/92. I am still playing for a local side in the Coleraine area (mind says 18 year old, body puts a more realistic figure on that) and still enjoying it as much as ever. Give my regards to anyone that may still remember me, and thanks for the site.

Simon Hennessey

14/07/09 - I played for a short while for one of the teams, probably 2nd or 3rd(memory lets me down) in 1963/64. My cousins Bob, Norman & Hughie (Majury) were team stalwarts with Tommy Boal, Goalkeeper. John gore was "The Spectator" reporter at the time. Good days when especially during the school summer holidays most time spent at Pickie pool or the sea front.

15/07/09 - ...cont'd...Nice to hear from you and to read some of the details and comments fom the site.  I didn't realise that the BYM fc had such a history.  Of course I was a newcommer to the club and only for a short period.  Left Bangor in 1960 when I was nearly 16, for an apprenticeship near to Portsmouth.  Returned to Bangor in 63, to complete the training at Sydenham and join the BYM fc.  I was playing football also for the works apprentice team around the same time, so didn't have much time for history, you didn't in those days!!

The names I recollect from the questbook are F.Craig, B Frair and John Gore.  I remember playing football in the Bangor Interermediate School team with F Craig and B Frair.  Billy Larmour was the team captain at the time.  It must have been around 1955/56/57 period when we were at the school.  Are these the same, now older boys?  And are they still around in Bangor?  I noticed that Victor Hyvart, a late cousin of mine, was in the one of the cup winning side in the eighties.  "The Good Old Days"!

Nice to hear from you, thanks again.  I'll continue to have alook at the site.

Regards

Des Gray - by e-mail.
